It was just the other day that we all looked on in horror as Duck Sauce’s summer smash Barbra Streisand was slowly and painfully mutilated on British television show X-Factor by two dudes under the banner of Diva Fever. While that display is sure to give us some gruesome nightmares for weeks to come there’s some salvation for fans of the original Armand Van Helden and A-Trak cut, namely that Diva Fever were eliminated from the X-Factor competition for their performance. Oh snap!
In the X-Factor results show following the weekend performance, the British public evidently came to their senses and sent Diva Fever packing against their competitors, plastic girl group Belle Amie. I feel dirty just typing that sentence.
The plot thickens into a gluggy styling wax and bronzer stew however as Diva Fever have blamed their exit from the karaoke show on the song Barbra Streisand itself, telling a UK radio show that only ‘clubbers and students’ know the song.
“I think it was the song choice,” the one with the weird hair said after the elimination. “There’s no singin’ in it!” said the other one. “We did express that we didn’t like the song really to start off with…But Simon said he had a vision for it and he said he thought we’d do really well with it.”
Check the results video below if you dare and then join us in never mentioning Diva Fever again.
