The new Girl Talk mix album All Day has been released for free through Illegal Art, just in time for your Summer barbecues and Christmas parties.
The 71 minute mix features 373 samples including snippets of Jay-Z, Aphex Twin, New Order, Lil Wayne, The Rapture and even Future Music Festival’s favourite pop bitch Ke$ha.
The album can be downloaded track by track or as a seamless mix, though Girl Talk reminds fans that “ All Day is intended to be listened to as a whole. It is broken up into individual tracks only for easier navigation.”
Speaking to Pitchfork recently, Girl Talk explained that he “wanted to put in more little breather-room elements. It’s definitely in the same ballpark as [previous album] Feed the Animals, but the production’s more complex and there’s more of a variety in the source material. I’m trying to make something that’s really, really complicated and has material that jumps around as far as possible in genre and style but, when you ultimately listen to it, it sounds like one cohesive piece of music.”
The mash-up maestro will be out on the road across America for the next few months touring the stuffing out of All Day and we can only hope he’ll bring his manic show back to Australia for some more of the toilet-paper swamped fun that we saw earlier this year.
