2010 has been another top-shelf year for the fabric and FabricLive series. Despite a tumultuous early half of the year for the London club due to the dissolution of its larger-scale twin Matter, its iconic mixes haven’t faltered.
On the fabric side there’s been inspiring turns from Optimo, Surgeon and Martyn to name but a few, while FabricLive continues to cast the net wide with everything from the immersive drum & bass of Zero T to the party-charged Drop The Lime volume. The final chapter for 2010 is set to come from dark-dwelling impresario Shackleton, whose fabric 55 is a studio-recorded live set of all his own material.
So, how will 2011 top all that? Speaking to the club’s Label Manager Geoff Muncey for a forthcoming feature, we were treated to a preview.
According to Muncey, the coming year will see the reins handed to Brazilian drum & bass great DJ Marky, jackin’ master Derrick Carter, enigmatic Frenchman Agoria (whose daring Balance 016 mix from this year should prepare you) and UK dubstep/techno star Ramadanman. Of course, that’ll just be the tip of iceberg, too…
