After returning to the scene with a big new album in 2010’s Barking, UK electronica legends Underworld won’t be disappearing again anytime soon with word now out that the duo have been tapped to provide the score to a stage musical adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic Frankenstein story.
As picked up by The Daily Swarm, British filmmaker Danny Boyle will return to the theatre next year with his interpretation of the Frankenstein character and has reportedly called up his old Trainspotting pals Underworld to provide the music and ‘soundscore’ for the production.
While hopping on a plane to see the production just to see how Underworld’s score fits with Frankenstein is probably a tad unrealistic, Boyle’s production is set to open on February 5th next year so hopefully we’ll get to hear some of the material by then.
