While Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo have been busy working their live-band dreams with the recent N.E.R.D album and tour which has brought them to Australia this summer, it would seem as though the pair of super-producers haven’t forgotten about their first-born baby The Neptunes.
Yep, according to Skateboard P himself, The Neptunes is still a big priority for he and Hugo, with Williams promising a new Neptunes album in the style of 2003’s The Neptunes Present…Clones LP.
Speaking to The Herald Sun recently, Williams dropped a few hints about the direction of the record, saying it would be ‘harder’ than the sophisticated pop and hip hop from Clones.
“The new stuff has been going wellThis new Neptunes record we’re working on right now is vicious,” he said. “It’s definitely harder – it totally demands sweat,’’
Ever the smooth talker. Meanwhile the boys have a few dates left in Australia including their Sydney sideshow with Chromeo and Boys Noize. Get all the event information below and check out their festival sets at Summadayze and Summafieldayze for a preview of what to expect!
