If after Future Music Festival you’re still hankering for more of Sven Vath and Richie Hawtin, help is at hand. For only…err…a couple of thousand dollars, you can hop a plane to Mannheim in Germany for the techno love-in that is Time Warp in April.
While the line-up tends to be pretty similar every year, the ‘if it ain’t broke’ defence certainly applies here. Running from 10pm on Saturday 2 April to late Sunday afternoon, it’s another encyclopedia of house, techno and ‘real’ electro names. As well as Vath and a ‘marathon closing set’ from Hawtin, the invitation has been extended to fellow big leaguers Carl Cox, Ricardo Villalobos, plus Luciano and Carl Craig in the back-to-back set-up C2 told us about back in 2010.
On the live front, house maestro Henrik Schwarz will lend a jazzy touch to proceedings, Luke Slater presents his Planetary Assault Systems brain-bender and Laurent Garnier goes long and deep with Benjamin Rippert and Scan X as L.B.S., the live/DJ hybrid we quizzed the French don about in December. All in all, a mega-rave to end them all.
