Bouncing back to remarkable form with 2007’s Third LP, UK trip-hop pioneers Portishead had fans hoping it wouldn’t be another 10 years until we hear from them again. After a few side project excursions it looks as though the band may be ramping up again to release some new material.

As reported by Daily Swarm, Portishead fans received some rather cryptic clues about the band’s future output from Portishead main-man Geoff Barrow who took to Twitter to lay out a manifesto of sorts for what the group are currently working on.

“There will be NO iTunes only There will be NO press launch There will be NO asian version There will be NO radio friendly/There will be NO press/blogger gig There will be NO acoustic session There will be NO meet and greet There will be NO edited version/There will be NO £25 unit cost There will be NO streetteam There will be NO myspace There will be NO celeb producer There will be NO twitter
There will be NO additional content There will be NO corporate partners There will be NO fashion lines There will be NO tabloid pictures/There will be NO free downloads There will be NO bonus tracks There will be NO remixes There will be NO hidden footage/Just music and us.”

Gotta admire those principles! There’s nothing official on a release date for any forthcoming music from Portishead or even the world-tour we’ve all been dying for. We’ll cross our fingers and toes that those Vivid rumours come true…
