After finishing up their Australian tour duties with this year’s Big Day Out festival, Italian trouble-makers The Bloody Beetroots would be forgiven for taking a moment to rest up a little. Not so according to the band’s buddy and Dim Mak label boss Steve Aoki who gave inthemix the scoop that the Death Crew 77 lads are already deep into their next album with plans to release the sophomore effort before the end of 2011.
Speaking to inthemix last week ahead of his Future Music Festival sets, Aoki gave ITM the word on Dim Mak’s favourite sons and the direction which album number two will take.
“We’ve just done the remix album for The Bloody Beetroots and now they’re working on their second record,” Aoki explained. “It’s going to be more rock. I think it’s sort of definitive of their live show, really.”
Fans will of course know that after the release of Romborama The Bloody Beetroots transformed themselves into a guitar thrashing live band so a move towards that kind of rock-rave vibe is not quite as surprising as Pendulum going punk. It’ll be interesting to see what they come up with, that’s for sure.

There’s also this footage from the Perth BDO where the band rocked out with Lupe Fiasco and The Deftones.
