If you fancy yourself a breakbeat aficionado, chances are you’ve already cast a vote in the 2011 Breakspoll. For ten years now, the annual celebration has been giving it up to the brightest talents in breaks – from DJs and producers to promoters and radio shows.
The public-voted awards are handed out at a ceremony in London that then morphs into a party that bangs through till 6am. As you’d expect, the line-ups are always top-shelf, and this year’s bash at on Friday 4 March at Counter Culture is no different. Headlining acts on the night include scene leaders Krafty Kuts, Elite Force, Meat Katie, Deekline, Cut La Roc and Rennie Pilgrem. All that for a measly £10, too.
The ceremony might be a long way from home for Australian breaks fans, but we can still influence the winners. Voting closes on Friday 18 February, so head to the Breakspoll website to show your love.
In 2010, Best Producer went to NAPT, Best Remix to the Plump DJs take on Stanton Warriors’ Precinct and Best DJ to Krafty Kuts. Check out the video below from the 2010 ceremony and this year’s poster with the full artist line-up.
