While we all have better things to do than stop, stoop and gawk at petty quarrels between musicians on the internet (right?) we’d happily lie down in traffic to see someone rip perennial pop-botherers The Black Eyed Peas a new one.

The attacking artist in this equation is none other than DFA disco troupe LCD Soundsystem whose leader James Murphy took to Twitter to decry the popularity of BEP’s recent electro-baiting hit The Time (Dirty Bit), with the big man likening the (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life sampling tune to bestiality.

“That black eyed peas dirty dancing thing is worse than raping a cat,” Murphy wrote on the micro-blogging site. “What is wrong with people? Do they hate ears?”

With LCD Soundsystem officially retiring next month we hope such pearls of wisdom from Murphy won’t likewise dry up. Stay tuned for Will.i.am’s revenge where he jacks an unauthorised sample of Losing My Edge.
