We’ve been talking for a minute now about the increasingly common ground of dance artists and film with big legacy acts like The Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk and Basement Jaxx all getting in on the cinematic act recently. Well you can now add UK big beat holdovers The Prodigy to that list, albeit with a little twist.
As reported by our UK mates Data Transmission, The Prodigy are heading to the big screen with World’s On Fire, a filmic document of the group’s explosive set from their Warrior’s Dance Festival at Milton Keynes Bowl in 2010.
Capping off their Invaders Must Die world tour, the film features The Prodigy smashing out their biggest hits from Breathe to Voodoo People and Omen and has been mixed in 5.1 surround sound by Liam Howlett himself. Win.
By now you’re probably sweaty with excitement about sussing the film out, however it’s only screening for one night in the UK on March 31st (at 70 theatres to be announced). While Australian fans likely won’t get to see it out here in the same capacity, we’d put money on a DVD release or some sort of crafty online stream down the track. While we wait you can check out the trailer for World’s On Fire below.
