Fans hankering for a more classic version of Daft Punk’s rather classical score Disney’s Tron Legacy feature film would likely have been thrilled to hear that a remix album was in the works to transform the orchestral soundtrack into some more club friendly.

As the tracklist for the remix collection was premiered a few eyebrows were raised at the talent on board which ranged from the obvious – like Boys Noize and M83 – to the odd with the likes of Paul Oakenfold and The Crystal Method ready to take Daft Punk into strange new territories.

One party unconvinced by the credibility of the collection however is Ed Banger boss and Daft Punk’s former manager Busy P who took to his Cool Cats blog to vent on this ‘sad’ corporate money spinner.

“Dear Disney people, you know I love you (we all do). But Walt! Come on! How can you take my robot friends so far away from good taste? I am 100% sure the Daft boys were not involved in this side (sad) project,” Busy P’s mock complaint letter read. “Of course some of it is nice, and you know there are some of my friends on this CD. But this is not enough! A masterpiece like Tron soundtrack deserved the best and I am sad to discover the A&R at Disney records is apparently buying most of his electronic music in airports stores…”

That’s a pretty damning report to be sure and Pedro went as far as to unleash an MP3 of the unreleased or perhaps rejected Flynn Lives remix from Belgian noise-makers Goose. Grab it over here and give Busy P a high five.
