These are certainly full-throttle times for Armin van Buuren. Over the weekend the scene figurehead staged part two of the A State Of Trance 500 celebrations at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami. Bringing together an A-list of trance talent at Bicentennial Park, the ASOT500 stage heaved from start till finish thanks to Cosmic Gate, Gareth Emery, Ferry Corsten, BT, Sander van Doorn and Armin himself.

Always one to keep his eye on the next project, it has been announced that the world’s number 1 DJ is taking up a residency at Space in Ibiza this Northern summer. The news came via an interview in the April issue of Mixmag.

“After a number of fantastic years at Amnesia, I’m really looking forward to my first season at Space this summer,” Armin revealed. “I’m really proud and honoured to work with such an established brand as Space. It’s every DJ’s dream to play in a club like this. It fits my sound perfectly. For me, it’s the next step in my career and I’m really looking forward to the summer!”

In 2010, the DJ hosted Tuesday nights at Amnesia, inviting a host of progressive and trance talent including Jerome Isma-Ae and Markus Schulz (who stepped up for a mammoth eight-hour set in August). Schulz and Isma-Ae will be following Armin to Space this season, with other guests like Ryan Marciano, Wally Lopez and Fedde Le Grand.

It’s looking like another heavyweight season ahead for Space. We Love…Sundays will be back stronger than ever with more festival-worthy line-ups, and the Carl Cox Revolution will celebrate its 10th anniversary every Tuesday from 5 July till 20 September. There’s never been a better time to plan your pilgrimage to the White Isle…
