Got roughly four hours to spare? You might want to make time in your schedule, because Australia is one of the lucky territories that can enjoy the full live recording of LCD Soundsystem’s swansong show at Madison Square Garden on Saturday 2 April.
James Murphy and co. sauntered on stage to a hero’s welcome in their hometown for what was billed as a set “with friends and family for nearly three hours”. As it turned out, the party went longer than that, taking in around 30 tracks from the band’s storied career. Some of those distinguished friends included Arcade Fire, Reggie Watts and The Juan MacLean, making for the kind of night fans fantasise about.
It all adds up to a monumental YouTube video put together by Pitchfork, so make yourself a cup of tea, put on your Out Of Office message and settle in for an almighty send-off to one of the finest live acts around.
