Barcelona’s hallowed Sónar festival keeps piling on the talent, with another list of line-up additions just announced. The sprawling three-day party is an embarrassment of riches in 2011. The Sonar By Day programme caters for the weird, wonderful and eclectic, while Sonar By Night takes care of your dancing needs in a cavernous aircraft hangar. Then of course there’s all the Off Sonar action to keep you away from regular sleep patterns.
With LCD Soundsystem put to rest, band leader James Murphy is free to flex his DJ muscle, and that’s exactly what he’s doing at Sónar. Also new to the festivities are Canadian club king Tiga, much-adored Londoner Four Tet and rabble-rouser extraordinaire Dizzee Rascal.
Of course, Sónar is just as much (if not more?) about the acts you might not yet know. For a full list of who’s headed to Barcelona, check out the updated festival website.
