Here’s a strange piece of news that’s breaking right now on US media outlets. A premiere for the Electric Daisy Carnival documentary, Electric Daisy Carnival Experience in Hollywood (where it’s currently Wednesday evening), was apparently cancelled at Grauman’s Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard, leaving a horde of disgruntled punters.

According to reports, the crowd moved down the street to see Kaskade play at an unofficial block party outside the Mann’s Chinese Theatre. The DJ had written on Twitter: “Today@6pm in Hollywood @Mann’s Chinese Theatre. ME+BIG SPEAKERS+MUSIC=BLOCK PARTY!!! RT!”

Apparently things got out of hand, with some members of the crowd throwing rocks and bottles and setting fires. The LAPD shut down Hollywood Boulevard, firing at the rave-rioters with bean bags (eh?). Kaskade’s Facebook page is being flooded with commentary from fans who showed up. According to some outlets, arrests are now being made.

Kaskade’s most recent Tweet reads: “EVERYONE NEEDS TO GO HOME NOW! I DON’T WANT THIS TO REFLECT BADLY ON EDM OR WHAT WE ARE ABOUT. BE RESPECTFUL AND CHILL OUT!!!”

We’ll keep you updated on this bizarre bit of un-PLUR news.
