As if to one-up the impending N.W.A. biopic, Raekwon from rap’s other first-family, Wu-Tang Clan, is reportedly preparing a feature film of his own which will document his life on the big screen.
As reported by Pitchfork overnight, Raekwon’s been talking up the cinematic project which currently bears the tentative title of C.R.E.A.M., saying that he’s almost finished writing the script and that he’s been involved in casting about 60% of the roles in the film so far with the part of his father now being played by old Goodie Mob bro and now solo star in his own right Cee Lo Green, who Raekwon described as “just one of the greats” involved in the film.
“News flash,” Cee Lo himself announced over Twitter. “I CEELO GREEN will be playing the “FATHER” OF RAEKWON THE CHEF in his new biography on his life! NOW THAT’S HIP-HOP for ya!”
Raekwon is due out in Australia this week for the 2011 Wu-Tang tour of the country so if he’s reading this (he’s not) we’d be more than happy to assist with the final draft of the screenplay. How’s this? Cee Lo attends his young son’s first live show and after disapproving of his love of hip hop he sees Raekwon killing it on stage and feels a twinge of pride – he turns to the camera, drops his sunglasses and with a wink says ‘ain’t that some shit?’ and the screen irises in on his grinning face. Annnnd scene! Hand over the Oscar now, you guys.
