As revealed by Resident Advisor yesterday, three of the key players on Minus – Magda, Marc Houle and Troy Pierce – are breaking away from the renowned label.

The trio is now focusing full time on its burgeoning imprint Items & Things, established back in 2006. All three have been pivotal in the evolution of Minus alongside label boss Richie Hawtin, from productions to ambitious joint tours like 2008’s Contakt. Houle memorably brought the ‘Minus Experience’ to Australia back in 2008 alongside labelmate Gaiser.

Magda, Pierce and Houle put it simply in a press release: “While we’re sad to be leaving behind a big part of our history, we feel that we have reached a point in our careers where it’s time to creatively spread our wings and focus our energy and enthusiasm on our own label, Items & Things.”
