David Guetta’s onslaught on popular culture is kicking up another gear this month with the flying Frenchman getting ready to release his much talked about Nothing But The Beat double album which should test Guetta’s new-found commercial powers and whether or not he can keep his crossover crowd dancing. Coming on the back of that album release is Guetta’s big screen debut in the like titled Nothing But The Beat documentary, the full trailer for which has just been released online.
Produced over the last year as Guetta’s star has ascended to grinning messiah like levels, the Nothing But The Beat doco features input from artists on both ends of the Guetta spectrum from DJ kin like Fatboy Slim, Laidback Luke and even 2manydjs waxing lyrical about his groundbreaking efforts in the US music scene to chart regulars like Usher, Will.i.Am. and Ludacris talking about the invasion of house music. It’s a topsy-turvy world we live in today.
The documentary will reportedly be on a screening tour for the next few months but at this stage there’s no indication of whether or not that will involve an Australian premiere. While you anxiously wait though you can check out the trailer below which echoes much of what Guetta had to say in his first inthemix interview in four years.
