After a couple of decades in the game, it’s pretty remarkable to see there’s still room for Tiesto to go bigger. The irrepressible Dutchman has set his sights on conquering North America in recent times, setting up shop in Las Vegas, headlining monster festivals like Electric Daisy Carnival and Electric Zoo and now, in a move that can only be described as savvy, touring US colleges. What better way to win the hearts of America’s impressionable and frequently intoxicated youth?

Even by his bombastic standards, the final stop of the college tour is going to be a large one. In fact, according to Billboard, Tiesto’s show at the 26,000-capacity (!) Home Depot Stadium in L.A. on 8 October will be the largest single-headliner DJ show in U.S. history. “L.A. has always been such a welcoming city to me and it’s been a while since I’ve played there,” says the DJ, “so to be able to finish off the college tour with such a great show is really special.”

We know dance music is big business in the L.A. right now, but 26,000 is a lot of tickets. That said, he’ll probably pull it off, then do it again in 2012. The kids want trouse.
