Do we need to discuss again just how good Orbital was on its 2010 Australian tour? Probably not. Let’s just agree on the verdict: very, very good. Brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll reunited in 2009 much to the delight of fans, and they’ve been busy ever since.

A greatest hits tour is one thing, but it looks like Orbital is determined to make this a proper comeback. The electronic trailblazers have offered up a new single Never this week, with an album (their eighth) due in April 2012.

“The album is a kaleidoscope of everything we like about electronic music,” Paul told Digital Spy. “But the biggest influence on this album has been two years of playing live, listening to old Orbital music. We wanted to make music that we would like to play live. It had to flow and ebb like a live set.”

“I’m really loving it,” Phil added. “We lost our way, but now we’re back and it feels like how it always should have been. We feel rejuvenated and regenerated – like Doctor Who!”

To make it all official, Orbital has announced a UK tour for April, playing six headline dates. Never comes on like the Orbital we know and love, and the duo has paired it with a hypnotic video of night-driving into London which you can immerse yourself in below.
