Justice have announced that they’re done with remixes. The French duo have stated that while they’ve remixed the likes of Daft Punk, N*E*R*D and even Britney Spears in the past, they’re not looking to put their medieval mark on anyone else’s work.
Gaspard Augé told Digital Spy “all this craziness over remixing is a little bit pointless because in the studio we have never listened to a remix of a track we like”. Not even the offer of remixing a Johnny Cash track could change the duo’s mind – Augé modestly stated “We were asked to do a Johnny Cash remix but it doesn’t make any sense. When the song is already good, we can only make it worse.”
Rather, Justice want to focus on making their own music. Augé explained “When we finished Audio, Video, Disco we still had the hunger to make more music, but we just had to stop and do the promo.”
“We never really did remixes for any other purpose than working on artists’ material that we liked” Augé stated. “We were just happy to see our name on a Britney Spears record!”
