Nic Fanciulli is a name Australian dancefloors have come to know closely over the last six years, and 2012 will see the DJ firmly back on our radar. In an interview with Beatportal this week, Fanciulli revealed that he’s been tasked with helming a Balance mix-CD in the New Year. The compilation will serve partly as a showcase for his ever-burgeoning label Saved.
“It’ll be my take on a Balance mix-CD in collaboration with Saved,” he told the website. “So there will be lots of exclusive records from some of our favorite DJs around the world – some who have been on Saved in the past and some who are new to the label.”
Fanciulli is of course no stranger to the mix-CD format, having turned out a couple of volumes for Renaissance and most recently Global Underground. His even-handed approach to house and techno has translated to the Saved stable, whose stars include Underground Resistance icon Rolando, UK stalwart Steve Mac and the label boss himself. “Every record we put out really has an emphasis on being a crowd-pleaser and working on the floor,” he told Beatportal.
It’s been a strong year for the Balance series, thanks to editions from Nick Warren, Deetron and particularly Henry Saiz, who wowed ITMers with his double-disc journey.
