If you care to cast your mind back to March 2009, you might remember an amusing ‘incident’ that happened between Steve Angello and Paris Hilton during the Miami Winter Music Conference. The Swedish House Mafia don didn’t take kindly to the hotel heiress’s request for “one good song”, and a scuffle ensued (“Don’t come into a booth and ask me to play hip hop and then have your doorman slap me,” quipped Angello on Twitter). Not long after, Paris was up to her old tricks again, getting local star Sam La More kicked off the decks in Beirut for not playing hip hop.

All which leads us to a New Year in which Paris Hilton is regrettably still in the public eye and even more regrettably pushing on with plans to make a “house album”. It’s her life-long infatuation, you see.

“I have a huge passion for house music,” Hilton told lad’s mag FHM in its latest issue. “It always has been my passion. I just haven’t been able to focus on it, because I have been doing reality TV for so long now.”

It turns out all those private jets with Afrojack and VIP sections in Vegas have given her an invaluable insight into all things house. “I’ve been working on the album with lots of other top DJs for a while now and I think people will be really surprised,” she went on. “There are just so many great DJs right now. And I should know, I’ve been to over 100 raves in the past year, so I’ve heard every type of music.”

One man you can always count on to arc up about crimes against house music is DJ Sneak – and he ain’t endorsing Paris. “Pure BullShat!” Sneak wrote on his Facebook overnight. “House Gangsters Do Not accept this. I’ve been in it for 20 years to know and talk on this, this will be short lived, and BTW they are not representing CHICAGO HOUSE MUSIC. this EURO POP shit has got to GO!” Good to clear that up.

Hilton also told FHM that she’s earned $1.3 billion since 2005, so the services of all those “top DJs” are hardly going to break the bank.
