No Parklife in 2013; Fuzzy launches bold new national event

First up, a surprising announcement from party specialists Fuzzy: in 2013, there will be no Parklife. So why is the annual Spring romp not returning? Because Fuzzy has set its sights on “a desperately needed” new touring event called Listen Out, proudly presented by inthemix. Over two weekends in September and October, Listen Out will visit lush inner-city venues in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. The tag-line is ‘Party. Redefined’.

Here’s how Fuzzy sells its new concept, with an emphasis on the ‘intelligent’ strains of dance music: “Listen Out is the antidote to many of the things you don’t like about big music festivals. It is a carefully hand-crafted party, with a killer line-up of the dance music that matters and a philosophy of best, not biggest. Say goodbye to endless timetable clashes, long hikes to the 12th stage and spending your day with several thousand people you can’t relate to. Listen Out is the right party – and we mean party, not festival – for the right people.”

Fuzzy director John Wall also adds: “We see a need for a return to this simple idea: a straight-up, quality dance-off in beautiful surroundings. That’s what Listen Out is.”

Hankering to know more? You’ll only have to wait impatiently for just a few more days: the full line-up will be announced this Friday 21 June. Then tickets go on sale midday, Thursday 27 June, from $89+bf. Keep a close eye on the official Listen Out Facebook page.
