Mr. Lob

I am a dj, photographer and the driver behind weedhopper.com.au & robsteerphotography.com I have been djing, promoting and running my own parties since 1999. This has developed over the last few years into promotional design, event photography and the Weedhopper Productions website.

I'm a lover of funk and funk inspired music, as well as jazz, latin jazz, breaks and hip hop. My dj career has had many highlights including supporting the Stanton Warriors in Bangkok in 2005, 4 Tours of Thailand, playing at the massive Earthcore Festival in 2005 & 2007, holding a 5 month Saturday night residency at Bimbo Deluxe in Melbourne in 2005, my 3 year Saturday night residency for The Get Down in Melbourne and gigs for the 2007 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the 2007 Spanish Festival.

At the moment I hold Melbourne Dj residencies at Murmur (1st, 3rd, 4th & 5th Saturday of the month), Section 8 (4th Sat of the month) and Phoenix Bar (alternating Fridays and the 2nd Saturday of the Month) as well as playing at Dirty Secrets as well as various other places. I love Thai food, funk music both old and new, latin boogaloo, old school hip hop, jazz and creative beatmakers and performers! Also can't get enough of the Bamboos, Cookin on 3 Burners, Sharon Jones, Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye, Red Astaire and Funkadelic. I travel regularly, both to dj, relax, catch up with friends and photograph madly! My favourite place to visit is Chiang Mai, Thailand and I am a collector of funk records, tshirts and adidas sneakers!! Also love cars and Vespas made in the 1960's!!
