Suspekt is Jesse Kuch from Cairns, Far North Queensland. Together with his mate Ian Woodsman, Jesse is co-founder of forward-thinking Australian dance imprint Open Records.
Jesse has compiled 2 successful comps on Open, Festivus and Slow-Release, as well as a string of Beatport exclusive digital releases as well, establishing Open as one of the most exciting labels to emerge from the Aussie underground.
The Suspekt sound walks somewhere in the grey area between techno and house, always with tribal rhythms, fat basslines and evolving grooves. He is a regular fixture in Cairns and up and down the East Coast of Australia at parties, clubs and festivals, and has even had his first ever international jaunt to Japan in January 2010. Along the way he has shared the stage with some of the biggest in the business, including Nick Warren, D-Nox, Dousk, Tigerskin, Erphun, Kasey Taylor, Marc Romboy, Adam K, Boris Brejcha, Solead & heaps more, and graced national airwaves on Australia's biggest dance music show Mix Up on Triple J.
As well as working with Open Records, Jesse also pursures a career in the media industry as Entertainment Editor of Cairns' major daily newspaper and news website The Cairns Post / Cairns.com.au. Through his job at The Cairns Post, he also has a part in the organisation of Cairns' largest outdoor music festival timeOUT Day In The Park.
