We’ve assembled another round of upfront dance tunes, so get downloading as we talk with Dutch electro house superstar Fedde Le Grand about his new single with Camille Jones called ‘The Creeps’. Is he a one hit wonder or the dance scene’s next big thing? Listen to his new track and you make the call! We’ve also got new tracks and remixes from 21 year old Swedish techno prodigy John Dahlback under his Hug name, UK breakbeat duo Deekline & Wizard, America’s deep house legend Miguel Migs, and emerging Sydney electro act called Sideproject and more.
Feature Artist
Fedde Le Grand vs Camille Jones The Creeps (Asle’s Full Blown Creep Edit) [Ministry Of Sound/EMI]
The last year has been something of a whirlwind ride for Dutch producer and DJ Fedde Le Grand. With his chart topping single ‘Put Your Hands Up For Detroit’ setting dancefloors on fire around the world, many were waiting to see what he’d do next. In March he toured Australia for the first time, impressing skeptical clubbers on the Future Music Festival tour, and just last month he took out the Australian MTV Award for Best Dance Video. Would he be a one hit wonder, or would he return with a track that blew ‘Put Your Hands Up’ out of the water? We’ll see this month when his latest single, a mash-up with Camille Jones called ‘The Creeps’, is released.

Emerging Artist
Sideproject – Rainbow
A trio hailing from Sydney, Sideproject also DJ under the name Destroy Disco, playing parties like Excess and at Moulin Rouge. Citing the growing French electro scene as an influence, they passed on their track ‘Rainbow’ for us to have a listen, and we had to include it in our next podcast. Remember, if you’re making your own music and would like to see it featured in an inthemix podcast, just drop us an email like the Sideproject boys did – podcasts@team.inthemix.com.au.

Miguel Migs – So Far [Om/Stomp]
Migs is undoubtedly one of the most revered names on the deep house scene, having built a solid reputation over the years with releases on some of the biggest labels in house music, like Om and Naked, as well as his own imprint Salted. He recently released the follow up to his 2002 debut album ‘Colourful You’. Miguel has said the album, titled ‘Those Things’, is inspired by old soul, funk, reggae and hip-hop. He collaborates with a long list of vocalists and MCs on the LP, including Sadat X from Brand Nubian, Lisa Shaw, Tim Fuller, Fred Ross from Sly and the Family Stone and Junior Reid.

Deekline & Wizard – Woah [Botchit/Inertia]
Two of breakbeat’s finest, Deekline & Wizard recently released their first mix album titled ‘Live’, which gives the listener a pretty good taste of what you’d hear from them in a club set – that being a hip-hop approach to mixing and live MCs throughout. They also feature on the new Eddie Temple-Morris remix album ‘Dance Rocks’, with ‘Woah’, so there’s no shortage of new Deekline & Wizard stuff to check out if you’re so inclined.

Hug (John Dahlback – Raido [Kompakt/Stomp]
Hug is the alter-ego of Swedish minimal techno genius John Dahlback, who has to be one of the most talented producers to emerge from Europe in recent years, an achievement made all the more impressive considering he’s only 21 years of age. Dahlback released his debut album as Hug on German label Kompakt, and ever since has been receiving acclaim in the underground scene. The album is called ‘Heroes’, and from it here’s the first track ‘Raido’.
