For session 37 we’re doing things a little differently. This fortnight we’re not featuring any one artist in particular, and we’re not interviewing anyone. In fact we’ve kept the talk to a bare minimum, letting the music speak for itself. Why is that? Well on inthemix we’ve just launched a brand new section dedicated entirely to the legendary Spanish island of Ibiza, and to coincide we’ve compiled a special edition Ibiza podcast. Be sure to check it out, inthemix.com.au/ibiza. It’s got up to the minute news, features, DJ sets and video clips. Everything you need for planning a trip to the island, or just watching from a far in envy. The next 40 minutes features some of the hottest tracks from the island this summer, so even if you’re not heading there you can still get a taste of what’s going down in all the biggest clubs.
REMEMBER, BE SURE TO CHECK OUT OUR BRAND NEW IBIZA PAGE! WWW.INTHEMIX.COM.AU/IBIZA.
On This Podcast…
Jamie Lloyd – You And I (Trickski Remix) [Future Classic]
It’s not just the Europeans making an impact in Ibiza this year, as Sydney producer Jamie Lloyd has created a stir with the Tricksi remix of his track ‘You And I’. It’s so hot that the track was snapped up by DJ T and Damien Lazarus for their upcoming mix CD on Get Physical before the finished copy had even been mastered!

Riton – Sound Of The Studio [We Love Music]
In 2007 infamous Sunday night party We Love at Space are releasing their first ever mix CD. Titled ‘We Love Ibiza’, it’s been mixed by fast rising underground tech stars Riton and Serge Santiago. For the CD both Serge and Riton have produced an exclusive track each, and they’ll be released as a We Love Ibiza EP.

Trentemoller – Moan (Radio Slave Vocal Mix) [Poker Flat]
Trentemoller has proved to be something of a genius in the dance scene in 2006 and 2007, loved across the board by fans of electro, tech and electronica. The latest single from his critically acclaimed album ‘Last Resort’ is ‘Moan’, and we’ve got the Radio Slave vocal remix, which is doing massive things in Ibiza at the moment.

Serge Santiago – R2D2 [We Love Music]

Richard Grey – Warped Bass (Dave Spoon’s Lost In Rave Remix) [Tinted]
Another of Ibiza’s most recognised clubs is undoubtedly Pacha. It’s been running for 40 years, and in 2007 they’re once again releasing a CD to celebrate the summer months. Titled ‘Pure Pacha’, it’s mixed by Pete Tong and Aussie export and Pacha resident Sarah Main, and it features that track, ‘Warped Bass’ by Richard Grey. If the bassline and vocals sound familiar it’s no surprise, as Grey has updated Soft Cell’s 80s classic ‘Trained Love’.

D Ramirez – La Discotek (Shakedown Remix) [Hussle]
D Ramirez is another rapidly rising star in the electro and tech infused house scene worldwide. His track ‘La Discotek’ which was originally released on Darren Emerson’s UK label Underwater, and now finds a release locally on Hussle. The Shakedown mix gives it an electro flavour for the dancefloor, and it’s certain to get a big reaction in Ibiza this summer. It also features on Ramirez’s recent mix CD for Ministry Of Sound, funnily enough, called ‘Discotek’.

Eyerer & Chopstick – Make My Day (Mashtronic Remix) [Tinted]
