Welcome to the first edition of the inthemix podcast sessions for 2008, this being number 49! Yes we’re edging closer and closer to the big 5-0. We hope you had an amazing Christmas and New Year break, it certainly was the big time of year for partying. For our first podcast for 2008 we’ve compiled some truly unique and exceptional tunes for you to listen to, with tracks and remixes from Guy Gerber & Chaim, Sergre Santiago, Kenny Hawkes & David Parr, the Junkbeats crew, Dan Ghenacia and much more. Plus we’ll also be talking to the biggest Aussie artist to make his mark on the international dance scene this past year – the one and only Dirty South!
Feature Artist
Dirty South – Minority [Toolroom Trax]
2007 was the most successful year to date for Australia’s very own Dirty South, having toured the world playing at many of the globe’s most famous clubs and festivals. He even capped off the year with a nomination for best remix at the Grammy Awards. Throughout the past 6 months Dirty South has been touring throughout America and Europe, keeping extremely busy and pushing his sound to the world. His remixes and tracks continue to gain praise and his DJ skills were recognised when he was ranked at #98 in last year’s DJ Mag Top 100. We caught up with Dirty South recently as he was mid-way through his hectic tour of the US. He spoke to us about the amazing year that was 2007…
