This fortnight we’re featuring supremely talented Canadian DJ A-Trak, who has a brand new mix CD ‘Infinity+1’ out now. Of course he’s not the only reason for you to download, as we’ve got new stuff to feature from Infusion, Stimming, The Twelves, Trickski, Tigerskin, and also the last ever release from UK tech house duo Peace Division. Yowzers!
Feature artist
A-Trak
Sebastien Tellier – Kilometer (A-Trak Remix)
A-Trak shot to notoriety in 1997 when he became the youngest ever winner of the World DMC turntablist championships at only 15 years of age. Dropping out of the turntable scene a few years later, he’s continued to build on his career as a DJ and producer, touring the globe with Kanye West and releasing his own tracks and remixes along the way. He’s a regular visitor to Australia, having toured here over summer playing all the biggest festivals, and he’s got a brand new mix CD out now which you should definitely check out. It’s called ‘Infinity+1’, and we spoke with A-Trak recently to find out a bit about what makes the man tick.

Metric – Help I’m Alive (The Twelves Remix)
Canadian band Metric have just released their fourth album, ‘Fantasies’. The single ‘Help I’m Alive’ has been a favourite of indie crowds for a few months, and now it’s time for the club kids to get in on the action. This is a remix from fast rising Brazilian blog stars The Twelves, who coincidentally will be touring Australia for the first time in May.
Infusion – So Soon
Things have been a little quiet on the Infusion front of late, but after almost 5 years they’re finally ready to unveil their next album. It’s called ‘All Night Sun Light’ and it’ll finally hit stores in June. Ahead of its release the boys passed on the album track ‘So Soon’ exclusively to inthemix to give you a little taste of what’s to come.
Stimming – The Loneliness
Depending on when you download and listen to this podcast you’ll have either just seen – or just missed – the first ever Australian tour from hotly tipped German producer Stimming. Touring with Berlin Sessions in April and May, he’s spread the word on his debut artist album ‘Reflections’.
Peace Division – Eh Oh Um
UK tech house duo Peace Division – aka Justin Drake and Clive Henry – have been kicking about on the scene for almost 15 years, but in 2009 they’ve decided to call it a day. Indeed it’s sad news, but they’re not going into the night quietly, with one final release. It’s out in May on Kevin Griffiths’ label Tsuba.
Tigerskin – What The
With a name like ‘Blasted Bitch’ you could be forgiven for thinking the new EP from Tigerskin was an all-out hard house affair… Not that there’d be anything wrong with that, of course. It is, of course, another tasty collection of smooth tech house tracks, and it’s coming out on American label Absurd.
Trickski – Cindy
Sometimes a trio, but usually just a duo, since 2004 the Trickski mob have done well to gain a reputation for their deep and jazzy electronic journeys. They recently finished work on a brand new release for Australian label Future Classic, who they’ve struck up quite the relationship with.
