This fortnight’s episode sees us speaking with certified legend of the electronic music scene, International Deejay Gigolo head honcho himself DJ Hell. He has a brand new album out now and it’s been getting a whole lot of people very hot under the collar. We’ve also got new music from Chris Lake, Richard Dinsdale, Chicken Lips, Meat Katie & Dylan Rhymes, Caspa and more.

Feature artist

Hell feat. Bryan Ferry – U Can Dance
German dance identity DJ Hell has been kicking about for over three decades, so it’s surprising to find him gaining such a major amount of critical acclaim for his brand new studio album ‘Teufelswerk’. For those a little rusty on their German the title translates to ‘Devil’s Work’, and it sees Hell producing an ambitious double album. One disc covers ‘Night’ and one ‘Day’, and it seems him teaming up with Peter Kruder – of Kruder & Dorfmeister – as well as featuring some rather surprising guests; Brian Ferry and P Diddy. We caught up with Hell recently to talk about the tsunami of critical acclaim he’s received since the album’s release, with many already calling it one of 2009’s defining releases.

Chris Lake – Robots
Having smashed onto the scene a few years back with his now seminal electro house track ‘Changes’, Chris Lake has been hard at work in the years since refining his sound and approach. He’s now released his debut album at long last, titled ‘Crazy’. Don’t forget he’s heading back to Australia in June for the We Love Sounds and Winter Sound System festivals.

Richard Dinsdale – Future (Mark Mendes Remix)
Taken from a recent Beatport exclusive EP by UK label Spin Out, the full release is getting major support from some of the scenes biggest names, with everyone from Nick Warren and Pete Tong through to Dave Spoon, Steve Angello and Lutzenkirchen playing the various mixes.

Meat Katie & Dylan Rhymes – Long Acre (Mike Hulme Remix)
A brand new collab from the head honchos of Lot49, Meat Katie and Dylan Rhymes are at it again! It’s the first time we’ve seen them team up for a proper release since 2002’s seminal ‘Moist’ EP on the long since defunct Whole Nine Yards label. It’s been described as ‘Moroder-esque warehouse techno’ – and who could argue with that?

Chicken Lips pres. Zeefungk – Robot Lips
Mainstays on the underground house scene, UK collective Chicken Lips have unveiled a brand new label for their unique productions, and it’s appropriately titled Lipservice. If the imprint’s first release from Zeefungk is anything to go by, there’s a good chance Lipservice will carve out a niche for house with a heavy disco edge.

Caspa – Lion’s Roar
Dubstep is a sound that’s getting a huge amount of attention lately, with many dance fans being turned onto the genre thanks to trailblazing producers like Skream, Benga and Burial. Another of the scene’s biggest names is Caspa, a London dubstep prodigy who has just released his debut album ‘Everybody’s Talking, Nobody’s Listening’ on Fabric.

Dyed Soundorom – I Care
Highly regarded French independent label Freak n Chic have a brand new EP from prized signing Dyed Soundorom, who has previously appeared on imprints like Crosstown Rebels and Tsuba. The EP is called ‘ICare’, and it’s indicative of his signature approach to deep house with a tech and electronic edge.
