Feature artist
Claude VonStroke
Greasy Beat feat. Bootsy Collins (Natural Funk Mix)
San Francisco native Claude VonStroke is one of the leading underground names on this year’s absolutely huge Parklife lineup, which kicks off around the country in late September. Claude will be closing the ‘Earth’ stage at every Parklife show across Australia, and he’ll be playing alongside acts like Aeroplane, Junior Boys, Joakim and more. He heads up the successful Dirty Bird label in his hometown of San Francisco, and his visit to Australia is perfectly timed with the release of his brand new album ‘Bird Brain’. ITM caught up with Claude recently to talk about his upcoming tour with Parklife, as well as what we can expect from the new album.

Metric – Sick Muse (Adam Freeland Remix)
The sounds of indie-dance have taken a massive hold on this year’s Parklife lineup, and Canadian act Metric will be bringing their synth-rock sounds to Australia for the very first time. While Metric might be one of the more rock-based acts on the lineup, there’s heaps of enthusiasm for their visit, and here we’ve got their new single ‘Sick Muse’ – remixed by none other than Adam Freeland.
Uzul – Under Pressure (Skream Remix)
There’s little doubt that UK DJ/producer Skream has been one of the leading lights in the explosion of dubstep over the past few years. If you’re keen to catch him in the flesh, you’re in luck because it’s just been announced he’ll be here to play Field Day in Sydney on New Years Day. He’ll be here with his partner in crime Benga, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed they’ll be playing a few more shows around the country.
Way Out West – Only Love (Jerome Isma-Ae Remix)
Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff are both amazing DJ/producers in their own right, but together they form Way Out West – an act that ranks alongside Massive Attack and Faithless as one of the finest that electronic music has to offer. We’ve endured a five-year wait for a new album from the duo, but ‘We Love Machine’ is finally here. It’s a superb effort that’s heavily influenced by the sounds of Cosmic Disco, and here we’ve got the brand new single ‘Only Love’, remixed by Jerome Isma-Ae.
Amanda Blank – DJ
Amanda Blank has built herself some massive cred as the sassy and sexy MC for Spank Rock, but now it’s time for her to shine as a solo artist. She’s just about to release her debut album ‘I Love You’. She enlisted the help of producers like Diplo and Switch to help make it happen, and the result is an impressive effort that blurs the line between pop, hip hop and electro. She’ll be touring Australia over our New Year party season, and here we’ve got a track from the album called ‘DJ’.
Chromeo – I Can’t Tell You Why
Canadian synth-funk act Chromeo were last in Australia for this year’s Good Vibrations Festival, pushing their sleazy 80s vibes, and at the moment they’re holed up in the studio working on their third artist album. But to tide us over, they’ve just released their entry into the famous ‘DJ Kicks’ series of compilations. Here we’ve got their cover of 80s easy listening tune ‘I Can’t Tell You Why’, which has been reworked by the boys in typical Chromeo style.
Kakatsitsi- Deneke (Loose Cannons Remix)
UK duo the Loose Canons are known for being exactly that – loose canons. And later this month they’ll be back in Australia to cause a whole lot more mayhem on a national tour. These haven’t been back to Sydney since their crazy antics at Field Day in Sydney a few years back, where one lucky punter was pulled up on stage and duck-taped to a chair! Expect more shenanigans when they return, and here we’ve got their remix of Kakatsitsi’s ‘Deneke’.
