Welcome to inthemix podcast session 98. With Future Music Festival over and the wait for winter events like Creamfields and We Love Sounds now on, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the next two months might be a little quiet. But that’s certainly not the case with a string of big releases and tours coming up.

Feature Artist

Kissy Sell Out
Garden Friends

Heading our way for a run of thundering club shows this month is Kissy Sell Out. The livewire British DJ has been lauded for his energetic style and skills on a keyboard and although his album ‘Youth’ has been out in the UK for about a year now, it’s just hitting us over here. We caught up with Kissy to get the scoop on the album and his tour.

Frew – Never Come Back

Right now let’s jump into some music with local hero Frew, who has been climbing up the Australian scene for a while now, and his tune Never Come Back out on Vacation Records. We’re expecting fans will be moving him up the inthemix50 poll in 2010.

Riva Starr ft. Noze – I Was Drunk (DJ Sneak Remix)

Speaking earlier of Creamfields, this is Riva Starr’s latest single ‘I Was Drunk ft. Noze’ remixed by DJ Sneak and he’ll be out here for the Australian debut of the Creamfields festival in May. We can’t wait.

Josh Wink – Hypnoslave (Nic Fanciulli Remix)

Out here over summer to showcase new tunes from his latest album, ‘When A Banana Was Just A Banana’, American maestro Josh Wink wowed fans with his sets at Summadayze. Here we’ve got the album track ‘Hypnoslave’ remixed into a nine-minute thumper thanks to Nic Fanciulli.

Showtek – Expansion

Moving into some harder terrain, that was none other than Dutch hardstyle duo Showtek with a tune called ‘Expansion’ that they’ve been giving away to fans. The boys have just wrapped up a successful local tour and triumphed at recent Hard Dance Awards, so we’re sure they’re having a pretty good year already.

New Young Pony Club (Mele Remix)

They were basically inescapable back in 2006 when the ‘new-rave’ movement was taking flight and now UK outfit New Young Pony Club are back again with their sophomore album, ‘The Optimist’ which is out now. In terms of style the album is still classic New Young Pony Club with a few tweaks here and there. Grab a taste of lead single ‘Chaos’ remixed by dubstep producer Mele.

Two Door Cinema Club – Undercover Martyn (Passion Pit Remix)

Rounding things out with a bit of a curveball we just heard a Passion Pit remix of Two Door Cinema Club’s latest tune ‘Undercover Martyn’. Two Door Cinema Club have crossed over in a big way this year, the Irish indie act working with Philippe Zdar from Cassius on their debut album ‘Tourist History’ which has just been released by Ministry of Sound sub-label etcetc. We’re big fans already.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
