Hi, and welcome to my little corner of ITM. My name is Matthew. I'm a DJ and music journalist presently living in Calgary, a city about 800km east of Vancouver in Western Canada. From 2002-2006, I studied, worked, lived and played in Melbourne - studying and teaching at Melbourne University, working at Vinyl Warning / Store DJ, and DJing at any place in Victoria that would let me and my box of records in the front door.

While here in Calgary, I've been keeping myself busy as the dance music editor for BeatRoute Magazine, as well as holding down a couple of residencies around town. As of January 2009, I've just bought my first Mac and Logic, and am starting to knock together some of the tunes I've had rattle around my head over the years.

Here on ITM, I've been contributing for a number of years, interviewing DJs, producers and promoters from Australia and around the world. Notable interviews I've done for for ITM's web and print offerings include Paul Van Dyk, Sasha & Digweed, Above & Beyond, Armin Van Buuren, Roger Sanchez, Andy Moor and Max Graham, but if you'd like a complete list with links - or to find out anything else about me, you'll find it by pointing your browser to Area709.com.
