Underground and Loud since 1999.

A not so brief (work in progress) history of SWARM.

Swarm is the Brainchild of Vic and Mel, who after many years of devotion to the electronic music scene, decided to put on a party of there own, this was back in 1996 and the party was called TRIP2SPACE, named after Vic’s weekly radio show. Between then and 1999 they successfully promoted and played host to underground parties such as Tripnosis, Hynopotamust, Remain Insane and Influx.

Due to the success of Influx and the debut Australian appearance of Chris Liberator, two months later Swarm was born featuring the likes of D.A.V.E the Drummer. This first Swarm marked the beginning of a very successful and legendary series of parties at 61 Regent Street, no other party that was held in that venue ever got the numbers Swarm did. The vibe was intense and inspiring. During this time Dj’s and live acts such as Geezer, Chris Liberator, Bold and D.A.V.E the Drummer and Julian Liberator rocked the house.
Those parties are now a solid part of the Sydney Electronic Music Scene history, inspiring many to start djing, producing and creating.

Although 61 Regent Street became a defunct venue option, Swarm evolved and found new stomping grounds to muster its mayhem. Over Christmas of 2000 SWARM staged a Mad Max style affair called SANDSWARM – a free party to say thanks for the support.

The next stop was Bohem, Swarm: The Motherlode (2001)saw the likes of D.A.V.E the Drummer, Julian Liberator and Zebedee combined forces with the locals proving that the Swarm vibe was still strong and addictive. Local and Lethal shortly after proving the same.
