Hairy. Egomaniacal. Talented. One of these words does NOT describe Kodama. Without a doubt one of the most irritatingly forward-thinking DJs in Sydney, Kodama has been championing the over-genrefied sounds of dubstep, grime and garage for much longer than anyone (particularly his mother) had expected.
Driven by a passion for obscure music and painfully unavailable dubplates, Kodama discovered the emerging darkstyles from the ashes of 2-step and UK garage in 2003 and hasn't been able to meet the rent ever since. With a record box like no other in Australia and the ability to break new tracks on an unsuspecting public (not physically), this is either one name to watch or one to avoid like the plague, depending on your own disposition.
Now not content with simply reaching fellow chin-strokers and social outcasts, Kodama has devoted many more hours than his girlfriend (yes, a girlfriend: it surprises him more than anyone else) would like toward creating the website www.southernsteppa.com
