Skye & Sugarstarr a.k.a Afropeans (did “Better Things” featuring Inaya Day), a.k.a Gadjo (they did “So Many Times”). This is their latest single.

The Original Mix follows your basic house formula; it’s nothing you have not heard before. Basic drums introduce the track; soon a Kid Crème style riff manufactures the track into the breakdown. The breakdown consists of a spoken male vocal (talking about clubbing all night and day, you get the idea) that sounds seriously similar to Max Linen’s Flashback”. The female vocal introduced later in the tune makes it more dance floor friendly, but the male continually ranting about how the club is out of control so come inside, we have a ticket to ride; does wear thin.

Paul Rincon’s remix of “Flashdance” by Deep Dish I didn’t mind. Here his remix of “Ticket To Ride” simply beefs up the track. The opening drums are harder and recorded at a greater BPM. The riff is less cheesy and utilizes more percussion. The subtle acid riff resting beneath the surface makes this remix the best track on the single.

What it comes down to: if you’re a ‘house dj’ that needs a club friendly filler then pick up this record.
