Straight from Wagram Music, France comes this very tasty little compilation ‘International Music News’. Featuring 18 tracks from several household names and a few yet to be discovered, this mix is primarily hip-hop and funk in flavour, with a little trance, electro and alternative rock thrown in for good measure.
With the selectors opting for simple well-honed sounds over complicated exercises in circuitry, ‘IMN’ is aimed directly at your pelvis and makes for one healthily paced dance floor workout. Opening with ‘Hurry on Now’ which features one of the UK’s sassiest vocalists ‘Alice Russel’, this a timeless piece of groove and soul. Witty music maestro ‘Earl Zinger’ swoons and swirls in the surreal glow of ‘Who Killed Saturday Night’ and ‘Amp Fiddler’ does his sugar sweet thang with the ‘Sugar Remix’.
Past the midway point and you can expect to hear from a seriously armed ‘Max Sedgley’ with the funk-fuelled, jazzy breaks of ‘Devil Inside’ and be sure to not miss the classic ‘B Boy Anthem’ from Dobie. Progressive trance lovers will adore ‘Zdar’s’ insanely catchy ‘Song from the Godfather’ and London lads ‘Grand National’ keep the momentum rolling with the acoustically euphoric ‘Drink to Moving On’.
