This latest single by Oxygen features three remixes of the vocal track Am I On Your Mind. The radio mix is full of lush vocal sections by Andrea Britton, instilling the track with a happy dreamy vibe. Backed by the light melodic trance, swift build-ups, and off-beat bass the track has a definite commercial edge.
The Ian Van Dahl mix starts with a clean well produced beat and crisp percussion samples that lead into the first build-up along with slice and diced vocal cuts. The synths in this remix are much sweeter and smoother in this mix, and seem to sit well with the vocals present throughout the majority of the track. The mix finishes with a very well sequenced breakdown that focuses on percussion.
The third mix by Renaissance Q immediately leads into much harder samples than the previous two mixes, hinted by the hard open hats. This remix seems to sit somewhere between a hard house and hard trance feel. The speed is a tad slower but the hard bass and crisp synth layers allude strongly to this sound. This mix seems to lack the depth and well balanced density of the Ian Van Dahl mix. Overall a good single, but this track will most likely be recognised in the commercial dance market, and will no doubt get a fair amount of radio play.
