RL Grime’s huge remix of The Weeknd is here

Thirty seconds of video from last month’s Trillectro Festival in Maryland was all it took for RL Grime fans to get very, very excited about the trap don’s newest remix. Now Henry Steinway’s take on The Weeknd’s chart-topping hit The Hills has officially arrived and just as that festival footage hinted, it’s big.

Scroll to start listening to RL Grime’s edit of The Hills – his label Wedidit haven’t shared a release date yet so for now, you’ll have to make do with SoundCloud. This marks the first piece of new music from Steinway since the release of his debut album Void last year, though friends like Salva, Wuki and Mura Masa have all stepped up to remix his originals since then.

With The Weeknd running the pop game right now, it won’t only be dance fans hanging out to hear the new remix. The original version of The Hills is the #1 song in the U.S. this week, while the R&B star’s new album Beauty Behind The Madness is topping the charts everywhere from Australia to the UK.

And if the new remix has you hanging out for a show? RL Grime will be back in Australia this New Year’s period for a string of festival dates including Brisbane’s brand new FOMO Festival, Victoria’s Beyond the Valley and Origin NYE in Perth. [RL Grime image by Jasmine Safaeian]
