Stainless Style
Neon Neon
LA based producer Boom Bip and Super Furry Animals front man and solo star Gruff Rhys, have joined forces to create a new group Neon Neon.
Their startlingly original debut album Stainless Style is themed around and inspired by the incredible, colorful life of the worlds first playboy engineer, John DeLorean. The ballsy businessman dealt in high stakes, borrowing enormous sums of money [including 85 million from the British Government] in order to fulfill his lifelong dream of building an automotive empire. His crowning glory, the iconic DMC-12, better known as simply The DeLorean, was fittingly immortalized as Marty and Docs time machine in legendary 80s movie Back To The Future.
Boom Bips euphoric, lush and pin-sharp dancefloor-pop leads us into the heady world of fast cars, shag-pile carpets and the bitter taste of Martini as Gruff Rhyss brilliantly maverick songwriting reimagines through the eyes of DeLorean himself the colourful and chequered life of a man taking the American dream to the edge and beyond.
With his jet-setting lifestyle, fast cars and sharp flared suits, the flamboyant DeLorean had no shortage of female admirers and was connected to a string of glamorous lovers including US film and TV star Raquel Welch The most desired woman of the 70s according to Playboy Magazine, she became an international sex symbol and is the subject of Neon Neons first single
Guests include Yo Majesty, Spank Rock and Fat Lip
