The Ginseng Bathhouse is a century old tradition located in the heart of Sydney, offering the opportunity to escape the stress of city living, cleanse the body of toxins, relax the mind, and emerge feeling wonderfully refreshed and rejuvenated.
The only one of its kind in the southern hemisphere and authentic in its style and services, the Bathhouse offers a unique hydrotherapy experience of wet and dry saunas, ginseng herbal spa and hot and cold baths. The beneficial powers of water treatments have been valued since ancient times when water was thought to be the essence of life.
Men’s and ladies sauna areas are separated but communal areas such as the guest lounge and gymnasium are available. It is also possible for friends or couples to enjoy specific treatments together in one of the 9 private treatment rooms.
The Bathhouse is suitable for all ages from 5 years and all services and treatments are available for both males and females. Once inside, you may stay all day, allowing you to experience your chosen treatments at your own pace 7 days a week. A retail selection of skin care and natural health products, light snacks and beverages are all available for purchase.
Traditional Korean Treatments:
Experience the traditions of Korea by treating yourself to the unique and authentic treatments of a skin scrub, Korean massage and facial or shiatsu massage. The skin scrub is a complete body exfoliation that will leave your skin looking younger and feeling incredibly soft and silky whilst the decadent combined treatments of Korean body massage and facial will ensure you feel and look rejuvenated and revitalised. The shiatsu massage will balance the body’s energy flows and relieve stress and musculo- skeletal pain.
Therapeutic Treatments:
Take time out to reward yourself with one of the beneficial therapeutic health care treatments on offer. There are well known techniques such as remedial/ sports/ deep tissue and pregnancy massages, reflexology, aromatherapy and lymphatic drainage as well as unique practices such as the Bowen technique, ear candling, energetic healing and Reiki. Some health fund rebates are available.
Beauty Therapy Treatments:
Indulge in a range of customised beauty services and specialised body wraps. The combination of natural products, holistic approaches and refined techniques promotes inner as well as outer rejuvenation. Products using potent extracts from the sea and earth are combined with exotic aromatherapy essences for superior, longer lasting results. Beauty treatments in conjunction with hydrotherapy use allows for deeper penetration of the active ingredients for optimal results.

Conditions of Entry:
With nudity a pre-requisite in the gender segregated sauna/bath areas of the Bathhouse, a strict code of behaviour, hygiene and etiquette is enforced.
For hygiene purposes, women menstruating are not permitted to enter the baths.
Guests with skin rashes are required to bring a doctors certificate validating the condition.
Guests with contagious skin conditions or other infectious ailments are not permitted to use the facilities.
We reserve the right to refuse entry if etiquette and Bathhouse policies are not adhered to.
