Colours, now an established resident night at Empire’s Moonbar, is back to round up a massive first quarter in Brisbane’s scene.
Leo Hede – DJ Set (SEGUE)
His first appearance after a huge summer that included Segue’s debut at Big Day out, on top of his ‘Boiler Room’ booking a couple of years back as ‘Statler & Waldorf’. Segue is a merger of Brisbane scene veterans Leo Hede and Dave Dri only took shape in early 2006, yet already Segue are being touted as the next live act to break out of Brisbane and into the national clubbing consciousness.
Nat Monaghan (Sidechain)
Nat’s first forays into DJ’ing two years ago came on a whim, to prove to a DJ friend that she too could step up to the turntables and craft a set every bit the equal of what they could muster. Just two short years later Monaghan has delivered on her promise, marking herself as one of the rising stars of Brisbane’s burgeoning tech and progressive house underground.
Mike Redfern (LOGIC)
Currently Mike promotes and is resident Dj at LOGIC; a night with the aim to drive a new series of quality events, whilst making a commitment to supply dance floors with a unique mixture of underground music. His ability to push musical genres beyond their normal limits has helped Mike establish himself amongst the best Dj’s in the minimal/tech, dirty house, breaks and progressive sounds that Brisbane has to offer and his sets continue to incorporate a very diverse and unique sound.
Orinoko (MELT)
Having instigated the MELT parties alongside Valli Lee his experience in not just Brisbane, but also interstate, has defined him as being one of Brisbane’s headline house and techno DJ’s. It comes as no surprise he’s been at the forefront of the underground sound ontop of supporting some of the biggest names on the touring circuit from Adam Beyer to Deetron.
Residents: Elliot Clarke and Fuzion
The latter will be representing Colours on this one. Fusing the sounds of tech driven funk and house his abilities have seen him earn consistent bookings both locally and interstate at some of the biggest parties around.
