Originating from the UK, Kate Doherty moved to Sydney when she was 3 and has now established herself in the forefront of the Sydney Techno scene.
Kate at 27, has already played with some of the best in the world at some of the city’s biggest venues.
Her sound ranges from tough stompin, bouncey, techno to tech-house and minimal. She brings her own take to the techno sound, having the skills and sensitivity to bring dynamism, soul and complexity to a genre often derided as repetitive and mindless.
Kate has had gigs practically rolling in; a regular at Sydney techno parties such as Lost Baggage, Swarm, TECHnique, Bump, Loosekaboose, Pussy Nation, Deep as Fuck as well as other festivals such as Soylent Green and the Amnesty Freedom Festival. She also has a hugely impressive list of internationals that she has supported under her belt – Marc Houle; Gaiser; Alex Smoke; Matthias Tanzmann; Richie Hawtin; Ben Sims; Chris Liebing; Deetron; Justin Berkovi; Mike Humphries; Ignition Technician; Steve Rachmad; Thomas P Heckmann; Space Djz; Chris Liberator; Thomas Schumacher and Technasia feat. Charles Siegling. Kate also had the chance to play a back to back with D.A.V.E the Drummer at a Swarm after party.
Kate is also working on her own productions, with a few tunes already down and many more to come, watch this space.
Over the past few years Sydney techno DJ Daniel Stubbs has fast been gaining a reputation as a talented exponent of deep, dark techno with a tougher edge. A regular feature on Proton Radio, Daniel is known for his smoother, less choppy approach to mixing techno & has received much praise for his ability to handle any time slot whilst still maintaining his signature sound. Successful performances at clubs such as Sweet Chilli, Party Under The Stars, Suplex, Kikkon & Pay Day Thursdays have showcased Daniel’s tight key mixing, unique use of loops & track rearrangements as well as a music collection that spans two decades.
Supporting the guests will be the Subservice residents: Dave Nolan, Den Williams and Defined By Rhythm.
What to expect on the night? A showcase of quality music, a friendly energetic vibe and an excellent sound system to create a night of ridiculous fun!
