Destination? is back again for the next installment of your monthly underground madness with another combination of some of the most excellent local and interstate talent this fine nation has to offer. Heading things up will be Passenger Records love child Nick Thayer, with support from Karton and Destination? residents and all round bad boys Sideshow Rod and bkp.
Nick Thayer has performed everywhere from worldwide super clubs such as Fabric, Home, and Ministry of Sound through to dingy bars in far flung corners of Eastern Europe and North America. From mix CDs to Breakspoll Awards to car ads and TV shows, Nick Thayer is no stranger to variety, his tracks being played by everyone from breakbeat dons the Plump DJs, freakout funksters The Cuban Brothers, and Baltimore godfather Scottie B.
So what can you expect from Nick Thayer? ‘The unexpected’ is an answer often given in these situations, but not here. It would be too ironic. Rather, expect a musical version of top shelf liquor. Three times better than the house standard and it’ll leave you feeling like you’re the one worth six figures.
Back on the wheels of steel at Destination? are Karton. If you came to see them earlier in the year you would know what all the fuss is about. These esteemed Canberrans have plenty of experience shaking rooms on the circuit all around the country and this month will be no exception. The Pauls have released tunes on labels like Sound Not Scene and Sound of Habib, getting support from the Crystal Method, Hybrid, Plump DJs and James Zabiela to name a few. Upcoming releases on Vacation Records, Sound of Habib and Transverse as well as a full length LP ‘For All Seasons’‘on the way it looks like being a big year for Karton.
Destination? residents bkp and Sideshow Rod ready to round things off for what is sure to be another night of the best bumping underground beats until the wee hours.
