Every now and then, a tune gets released that stands the test of time. No matter how many times it’s played, no matter how long after it’s been released, it still receives the same reaction it did the first time it was played to a room full of sweaty punters. The September Eat Musik is a tribute to these tunes – the classics. Digging deep into their crates this month will be special guest Robbie Lowe and residents Andrew Wowk, Tiny Tim, Jay Smalls & Trinity and Mortlock.
Despite being one of the most sought after DJs in Australia, Robbie Lowe is one of the most down to earth people you will ever meet. With 14 years experience as a DJ, and early influences such as the late 80’s acid/hip-house & rap movement, you know Robbie has an expansive knowledge of music and is the perfect choice for a classics party.
As well as playing at nearly every major Australian festival and supporting internationals such as Sasha, Danny Howells, Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, James Zabiela, Stephan Bodzin, Nic Fanciulli, Dubfire and recently Tiesto, Robbie has been a resident at one Sydney’s favorite underground parties – Sweetchilli – for the last 9 years. Furthermore, he has played internationally, playing guest spots at Sullivan Room, Le-Souk and Dumboluna Festival in New York, as well as Turnmills in London alongside Umek.
Between them, the Eat Musik residents have a knowledge of dance music that stretches across almost the entire gamut of the genre and reaches way back in time. Expect plenty of surprises and plenty of tunes that’ll make you say “holy crap I remember the first time I heard this”.
