‘Matt Rowan’s DJ career spans two decades of house music and continues to grow and evolve today. Having commenced his first residency back in 1998, Matt has gone on to become a regular at many a Sydney nightclub and event. A style that’s been described as “Bass-driven House Music”, Matt’s sets incorporate a strong rhythmic and techy feel whilst remaining light hearted and funky: A combination which gets any dance floor moving! This dance floor oriented approach to set structure and programming, combined with deft skills, has seen Matt hold residencies at Sounds on Sunday, Habit, Robotique and Sydney’s premier progressive night SweetChilli. With dates both at home and abroad, 2006 saw Matt make his Winter Music Conference debut with numerous guest appearances alongside some of the industry’s finest.

Making his production debut in 2005, Matt soon went on to compile a solid catalogue of tunes and remixes on a variety of labels – Hope, Baroque, Only, Rapid Response, Proton and Babylon to name a few. Matt’s 2006 hit “Tomorrow” (with Jaytech) took the world by storm and found itself on Dave Seaman’s Renaissance Master’s series, whilst ‘Keep Sake’, ‘This That’ and ‘The Other’, join remixes of Static Noise and Latenta Project on various other compilations. Having collaborated with the likes of Dousk, Jaytech, and Soloquid, and remixed countless artists, Matt’s back catalogue of originals, remixes and remixers reads as a who’s who of the EDM scene.

Matt’s career flourished with his debut artist album “I Play This” released in September 2008. A collection of works that encompass his musical tastes and styles, “I Play This” showcases Matt as one of the world’s leading producers and a name to be reckoned with. Whether it be with production buddies Jaytech or Robbie Lowe, Matt’s tunes are regularly played by the world’s DJ elite – Seaman, Warren, Cattaneo, Masiello, Fair, Sasha, Zabiella, Digweed, Porter and many more. Equally at home bangin’ out the progressive at the festival, or groovin’ away to the Techhouse in the back room, Matt’s music sets to impress, with a healthy dose of funk, drive and swagger.

Music that is emotive but funky, thoughtful but dance-floor-oriented, complex but fun.

Enjoyment assured.’
