After all the furore of recent years surrounding New Year’s Day parties – selling out months in advance, rapidly rising ticket prices, Government legislation being introduced to prevent scalping, heavy pressure to book the highest number of international guests – a bunch of local crews have gotten together and decided to return to the roots of what parties should be: friendly, intimate, affordable, based on having a good time, and – of course – full of great music. This New Year’s Day, we’d much rather be in a pub beer garden with our mates, you’d better get ready for…PUB DAY!

A great venue has been secured – the recently renovated Hermann’s Bar, in Sydney Uni’s Wentworth building. In addition to exploiting the sumptuous indoor area which will be filled with beats of all shapes and sizes, the glorious courtyard outdoors will also be used, with an outdoor bar and plenty of space to lounge in the sun! Daytime vibes will be provided courtesy of some of Sydney’s hottest leftfield selectors, with a sunset tempo increase to guarantee that things will be going right off by the time night falls!

With Pub Day being the Inner West’s NYD party, there’ll be plenty of alternative sounds throughout the day – no formulaic filler here! Expect sounds rocked on the day to include (but not be limited to) Techno, Dub, Underground House, Electro, Dancehall, Jungle, DnB, Hip-Hop, Minimal, Booty, Punk-Funk, Twisted Disco and more!

As well as amazing music, there’ll also be plenty of weird stuff going on throughout the course of the day – stupid games, performances, art happenings and maybe even a fight or two. We’ll have incredible visuals and projections, food stalls, little presents, cheap tricks, hot chicks and blokes and CONTRACTUALLY-OBLIGATED CHEAP BEER!

And what’s best of all is that all of this is going for the stupid cheap price of $23(+bf)! We’re starting at midday on Jan 1st and going all the way through till midnight. So, that’s 12 hours, two rooms, party people, stupid games, incredible music and cheap piss – all for less than the cost of a slab of VB throwies! Fuck the scalpers off and get yourselves a ticket for what is bound to be THE alternative party on New Year’s Day!
