If this is what Adelaide is to get used to - and indeed we should be - we’re going to be a spoiled bunch.
With a considerable increase in patrons for this kind of event and such an intense vibe, it was official: Adelaide has officially got a scene and it is very much addicted to dubstep.
It’s been some time since sleepy Adelaide found a genre that has made them stand up and take notice. Due to the rising success of Pleasure, that their needed to be a six month ‘birthday’ bash to give the punters something back for their support!
The Rhino Room was the homely venue to showcase a growing genre, and rising culture, and an increasing movement in Adelaide known as Dubstep.
Dubstep is synonymous with gravy. Why gravy you ask? Cause it’s dark, smooth, and has all the traces of all the good flavours from other delights!

Saturday January 5 was a hot night, Fowlers is a hot venue and thankfully (in my opinion anyway) Salmonella Dub played a massively dubbed-out set.
It was back to the beloved Crown & Sceptre for the next instalment of the legendary 'Inbound' Drum & Bass legacy. This time the Adelaide Massive were in for a special treat with the gorgeous DJ Mystique from Perth set to control the floor once again.
I went to this event expecting a relatively small crowd as breaks is still a new sound in Adelaide. However I arrived to be surprised by a somewhat decent crowd.
